Induction Requirements

Undergraduate Student Requirements

* Meet the academic requirements (top 1/4th of juniors or 1/3rd of seniors - with one semester completed at CSULB).

* Payment of $110 initiation fee (cash or check payable to 'IEEE-HKN Epsilon Theta Chapter').

* Submission of electronic resume to the corresponding secretary in this naming convention for the resume LastnameFirstname_Resume.pdf

* Join IEEE (both national association and student branch).

* Group Interview.

* Two hours of community service.

* Attend 3 HKN workshops or events

* Submission of induction application.

* Attendance of induction ceremony.

Graduate Student Requirements

* Meet the academic requirements (top 1/3rd of graduate students - with one semester completed at CSULB).

* Payment of $110 initiation fee (cash or check payable to 'IEEE Inc. Epsilon Theta Chapter').

* Submission of electronic resume.

* Join IEEE (both national association and student branch).

* Endorsement from chapter advisor, Dr. Chin Chang.

* Endorsement from Chair of Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Anastasios Chassiakos, or Chair of Computer Engineering & Computer Science Department, Dr. Burkhard Englert.

* Submission of induction applications.

* Attendance of induction ceremony.

Faculty/Professional Requirements

* Payment of $110 initiation fee (cash or check payable to 'IEEE Inc. Epsilon Theta Chapter').

* Submission of electronic resume.

* Join IEEE (national association only).

* Endorsement from chapter advisor, Dr. Chin Chang.

* Endorsement from Chair of Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Anastasios Chassiakos, or Chair of Computer Engineering & Computer Science Department, Dr. Burkhard Englert.

* Endorsement from Dean of College of Engineering, Dr. Forouzan Golshani.

* Submission of induction applications.

* Attendance of induction ceremony.

*If a hardship exists regarding paying your initiation dues, DO NOT DELAY YOUR HKN INITIATION. Payments may be extended or done via a Payment Plan. If you require more information about either of these options, contact an HKN officer prior to your interview. All requests will be kept confidential.
