Eta Kappa Nu, Epsilon Theta Chapter

The California State University, Long Beach chapter of Eta Kappa Nu, Epsilon Theta, was founded on Saturday, February 13, 1965. HKN consists of students, alumni, and other professionals who have demonstrated exceptional academic professional accomplishments.

IEEE-HKN is a unique membership organization dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in the IEEE-designated fields of interest. Members include students, alumni, and other professionals who have distinguished themselves through phenomenal scholarship and strong moral character.

The Epsilon Theta Chapter was reactivated at CSULB on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.

IEEE-HKN Merged

Effective September 1 2010, Eta Kappa Nu became a part of IEEE, the world's largest technical professional association. The organization, now called IEEE-HKN, follows the governing guidelines of IEEE and the IEEE-HKN Operational Procedures.

Why Should You Join?

IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE-HKN) is the nationally recognized Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science Honor Society. HKN is a unique organization dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in these fields.

The CSULB chapter, Epsilon Theta, was founded on Saturday, February 13, 1965. HKN consists of students, alumni, and other professionals who have demonstrated exceptional academic and professional accomplishments. Student members are selected on the basis of scholastic standing, character, and leadership. Through a variety of service programs and leadership training, student members develop lifelong skills that earmark them for prominent positions in industry and academia. Members are much better prepared for the post-college world and are especially valuable and attractive to employers. They are recognized as extremely capable, both technically and professionally. As a member of HKN, students are immediately welcomed into an organization of motivated and top-performing students who share the same passion for electrical technology. They are also privileged to many benefits and events put together by the Epsilon Theta Chapter.
